SPIRITUAL EDUCATION IN THE SCHOOL OF CHRIST.

You have to Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth ( 2 Tim. 2: 15).
   A local assembly (Church) where believers gather to render services to God is like a school of learning. But in this particular school, Christ and His victory is the focus of everyone. 1 Corinthians 2:2 says " For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." Acts 5:42 "And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ." So, Jesus Christ must be taught by those who have learned thoroughly about Him, by the Spirit. These must be teachers who have studied to show themselves approved unto God and never to men, workmen who need not to be ashamed, but dividing the word of truth righty. Take note of the word "rightly".
   Every believer is a good soldier of Jesus Christ (2Timothy 2: 3). You train to become a soldier. So, God's people must be train with the word of His grace.  Acts 20:32 says " And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified" The word of his grace is the message of Christ- the gospel of the suffreings of Christ and the glory that followed. You are established in His glory right now (1 Corinthians15:1-6, 1 Peter 1:10-11, 2 Peter 1:3). It is not enough to belong to a faith church (A church that exalt Christ and his victory) but you must be well trained to be a good disciple of Jesus so you can make disciples for Jesus too. It is great to  be a good student of the word of his grace,  you can't afford to be a casual Christian toss to and fro by every wind of doctrine. You can't also afford to pay the high price of spirital illitracy (Hosea 4:6). Hence, you need to grow daily in the knowlege of Christ and His victory.
    Our theme text says that you must study, master the word of God, so that you will not be ashamed nor lead others astray. If the word talk about dividing the word of truth rightly, it shows that some people are dividing the word of truth wrongly because they didn't undergo word training and are not growing in the knowledge of Christ. They didn't see the need to attend to God's word closely, they handle the word of God carelessly. The bible talked about some noble people in Acts 17: 11; they received the word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily; to see whether what they were taught, were true. Do you search the scriptures daily to see if what you are taught are true, or do you just accept every teaching you here in the Kingdom as the word of God?  Apostle Paul have this to say in Ephesians 4:17-18 "This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind. Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart." 3 John 1:4 "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." When a believer is established in the truth, he walk in absolute freedom and function in the victory of Christ, unafraid of the adversary.
   Ephesians. 4: 20 says "But ye have not so learned Christ”. Ignorance of the word can deprives people of their inheritance in Christ and many are not comforted with the truth. They see word training as stress. It is good to know  that the word of God is our life (Colossians 3:4, Revelation 19:13). The knowledge of the word of God is our escape from every bondages of the enemy. This put us above all circumstances. The word of God is ultimate for a great life and destiny. I am aware that many people have some good level of mental training and we are very good at our field. This is so lovely. But the real you is your human spirit and the only training you can give to your spirit is  growth in  the knowledge of Christ with the word of His grace. That's why Jesus said that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4: 4). Learn more about Christ everyday, enroll yourself in the school of the word. Be spiritually educated, and increase in the knowledge of Christ. The Holy Ghost is your great teacher in this school.

PRAYER:
In the name of Jesus Christ, thank you Father for your grace to learn more about Christ, I refuse to be a novice in the school of the word. I grow daily with the word and this is building me up and giving me my inheritance among the sanctified. The Holy Ghost is teaching me all things that I need to know as I learn Christ more and more. I am bearing much fruits with the word. The unsaved are receiving Christ all around the world today as they hear His good news, the saved are growing in the knowledge of Him.
